Pet Of The Week – Lucy

Please meet Lucy!  Lucy is a young Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) Mix who we believe to be about 1 ½ or 2 years old. Before coming to the shelter Lucy had a home of her own, but then life threw her a curve and, through no fault of her own, she was relinquished to the shelter.

Lucy is a sweet, energetic dog who loves to run and play. Because she is so full of life, being in a kennel at the shelter is stressful for her, and going outside with shelter volunteers and staff to romp in the outdoor play yard is her favorite part of the day! Lucy loves being with people, especially people who will play with her until she’s worn out and then give her belly rubs. Lucy is also a very smart girl who would enjoy learning commands and tricks. She is not dog-aggressive, and gets along well with other dogs … especially if they enjoy playing as much as she does!

If Lucy could describe her perfect Forever Home she would tell us about an indoor/outdoor home where she could spend lots of time outside running and playing and then come back inside to spend time with her family for love and belly rubs. She would enjoy an active family who would take her on long walks, and she would also be content to have a canine sibling to share her home with. Most of all, Lucy just wants to be loved.

Lucy will go to her Forever Home spayed, de-wormed, heartworm tested, and up to date on all vaccinations including rabies. She is full of happiness and love; could she share her joy for life with you?
