Pet Of The Week – Mars
If you are looking for a joyous pup who will fill your days with smiles and your heart with love, you need look no further than sweet Mars! Mars’s mom, Sunny, arrived at Green Hills Animal Shelter on January 10, 2024. It was freezing cold outside and Sunny was so happy to be inside and safe, especially since the day after arriving she gave birth to 8 puppies! Mars, her mom, and her 7 siblings remained with a foster until the pups were 8 weeks old, and now this adorable family is back at the shelter, dreaming of the day they will all have homes of their own.
Since arriving back at the shelter Mars’s personality has begun to shine! A DNA test tells us that Mars is 53% Australian Cattle Dog (Heeler), 21% Labrador Retriever, 20% Great Pyrenees, and 6% Australian Kelpie, and those genetics have resulted in Mars being the absolute perfect mix of playful, outgoing and snuggly! Mars is very people-oriented and seeks out and loves attention. She enjoys romping and playing with her siblings, but when she is outside she prefers to stick close to her humans where she happily revels in their pets, cuddles, and love. Mars’s mom has a very laid-back and loving personality, and we are seeing that same personality shine in Mars as she grows.
If Mars could describe her perfect Forever Home she would tell us that she would like to be an indoor pup with a family who will shower her with their attention and love. She would very much like to go on all her family’s adventures and be a part of everything they do! Mars loves everyone she meets and would be very happy to share her home with gentle children, a canine companion (perhaps even her mom or one of her siblings!), or even a canine-friendly kitty.
Mars will go to her Forever Home spayed, dewormed, and up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations. She will also arrive with a starter bag of Hill’s Science Diet puppy food to help her transition into her Forever Home. She is a perfect bundle of sweetness and joy; wouldn’t you love to share your heart and home with her?
