Pet Of The Week – Mia
Courtesy of Green Hills Animal Shelter

We often say that it is hard enough for a dog to find itself on its own under good conditions, but finding yourself alone in the harsh winter is even tougher. Sadly, that is exactly what happened to Mia. We don’t know how she came to be alone in the cold, but we do know that we are so grateful that this amazing girl was found and brought to Green Hills Animal Shelter. And Mia was grateful, too! She settled right into life at the shelter, charming everyone with her perpetually happy personality and her desire to be loved.

Mia is a super sweet girl whom shelter staff describes as “an absolute angel”. She is friendly and affectionate and loves everyone she meets; whether it is adults, children, other dogs, or even cats, Mia is everyone’s best friend! As you might have already guessed, Mia LOVES attention. She thrives on being loved and will make a wonderful addition to any family!  She is a very active girl and still has a lot of puppy in her, and when she’s not getting cuddles and kisses Mia loves going on leashed walks with shelter staff and volunteers and playing in the shelter play yard. At only approximately 1 year old and weighing in at only about 30 pounds, Mia is perfect for a person or family looking for a smaller-sized dog with a huge heart and the most wonderful personality!

If Mia could describe her perfect Forever Home, she would tell us that she would like to be adopted by an active family who will include her in all their activities. She would prefer to be an indoor dog (this smart girl is already house-trained!) with access to a securely fenced yard where she could run and play and perhaps engage in a rambunctious game of fetch with her family. Mia would be very happy in a home with children, and she would be quite happy to share her home with another canine friend, or even a kitty companion.

Mia will go to her Forever Home spayed, dewormed, heartworm tested, and up to date on all vaccinations including rabies. She is the epitome of the “Happy Dog” and she can’t wait to share that happiness with a Forever Family all her own!
