Pet Of The Week – Nora

Please meet Nora! Nora is a beautiful house panther whose gorgeous black coat and endearing personality are sure to steal your heart!

Before coming to the Green Hills Animal Shelter in December of 2020, Nora was a stray with no home to call her own. She spent her days wandering alone along Trenton Lake in search of food, and she spent her nights trying to stay safe and warm. Fortunately for Nora, some kind people picked her up and brought her to the shelter to keep her safe and help her find a home of her own.

Shortly after arriving at the shelter, Nora was diagnosed with FIV, (short for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), but don’t let that worry you.  Cats who test positive for FIV can lead lives of normal quality and duration. Because they have challenged immune systems, they need to live indoors and be taken to the vet if they get sick, but we hope for all cats to be able to live indoors and have access to good vet care … so caring for an FIV cat isn’t really any different than caring for any cat! And, since FIV is transmitted primarily through deep bite wounds, Nora can live safely with other cats as long as they get along well.

Nora is a very sweet girl. She is affectionate and loving and loves her daily pets and cuddles. She is also curious and playful and is always ready to happily chase a feather toy or play hide and seek on the cat tree. She is the perfect mix of affection and independence!  Nora gets along well with other cats and would also do well in a home with children.

If Nora could describe her perfect Forever Home, she would ask for an indoor-only home where she could spend her days lolling in sunbeams and safely watching the birdies through the windows. She would love to get to play with toys of her own and then curl up on her human’s lap for a nap with her motor purring loudly. Most of all, Nora would just like to get to be someone’s sweet, loving companion and spend her life knowing that she is loved.

Nora will go to her Forever Home spayed, dewormed, FIV/FeLV tested (FIV+), and up to date on all vaccinations, including rabies. She has waited a very long time for a home and is absolutely full of love to share; could she share that love with you?
