Pet Of The Week – Ocean

If you are looking for an adorable puppy who is sure to fill your life with love and your heart with happiness, then you need to look no further than Ocean! Ocean is a 10-week-old Terrier/Hound mix whose short stubby legs (could there be some Bassett Hound in there?) and happy dog smile will cause even the most serious face to break into a grin!

Ocean came to Green Hills Animal Shelter along with her mom and five (yes, 5!) siblings after they were picked up as strays. Life on the street is hard for any animal, but for a mom and 5 babies struggling in the heat it was extra dangerous. Fortunately this little family was rescued, and they quickly and happily settled into life at the shelter, thankful for plentiful food, fresh water and lots of love.

Ocean is a happy pup who is sweet and calm, but still playful, especially with her siblings.  She can be a little shy when she first meets new people, but she warms up quickly and in no time at all, she will be your best little friend. Ocean is very gentle and loves to be held and loved on, and she will happily give and receive puppy kisses.

Ocean’s sweet personality would fit well in virtually any home environment, but if she could describe her perfect Forever Home, she would tell us that she would like to be an indoor dog with a family who will spend lots of time with her.  She would love a fluffy bed of her own, and lots of puppy toys. She would be very happy to have a canine friend (perhaps even one of her siblings!), and she would also be quite happy to have a young human friend so that they could grow up together as best friends. Since Ocean spends her time at the shelter playing and snuggling with her siblings she hasn’t yet formed an opinion on cats, but with her young age and friendly personality, she would likely learn to love a feline friend, too.

Ocean will go to her Forever Home dewormed and up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations. She is scheduled to be spayed in September, but we will allow her to go home early with a spay voucher so that she can spend more time settling into her Forever Home and bonding with her new family

For more information on Ocean, her siblings, or any of the animals waiting for their Forever Homes at Green Hills Animal Shelter, please phone the shelter at 660-359-2700 or stop by during open business hours. We’d love to introduce you to your new best friend!
