Pet of the Week – Paisley

Please meet Paisley!  Paisley is a Lab/English Bulldog Mix who has been waiting for her Forever Home at Green Hills Animal Shelter since February 2019. This sweet senior (we believe her to be about 9 years old) was found roaming the streets of Trenton.  The police helped her off the streets and brought her to the shelter, but sadly no one ever came to claim Paisley.

Life on the streets can be hard, and after arriving at the shelter Paisley tested positive for heartworms.  However, she has completed heartworm treatment, and with the love and care she has received at the shelter, she is doing excellent.  Her coat is now shiny and she is active, happy, and playful. Paisley loves people, and is a favorite among our volunteers. She walks well on a leash and would love going on slow, leisurely walks where she can take in all the smells of the outdoors.

Paisley would love a home with adults who would love an active senior and who understand that because she has been heartworm treated, she does currently have some restrictions on her activity level. Paisley would also enjoy older children, but because of her size (she’s a big girl!) we would recommend that children in the house be 13 or older. We would also recommend that she meet any dogs currently in the household prior to her adoption to ensure compatibility.

Paisley has been spayed, dewormed, and is up to date on all her vaccinations, including rabies.  She has successfully completed heartworm treatment, but because she did test positive prior to treatment, Paisley will need to remain on a heartworm preventative year round in her new home.
