Pet Of The Week – Pluto

We’d like to introduce you to a very special boy named Pluto.  Pluto is a 5 year old hound mix who came to Green Hills Animal Shelter in December 2020 as a rescue. Before coming to the shelter, Pluto had a home of his own with a kind couple who took in and cared for homeless dogs. Over the years, as word of their kindness grew, the size of the couple’s rescued pack also grew. But in December tragedy struck and when his wife passed away, the husband was left unable to care for the pack of 50+ dogs on his own. Multiple rescues, including Green Hills Animal Shelter, stepped forward to help, and Pluto and several of his pack-mates were taken in by Green Hills Animal Shelter.

When you meet Pluto, you will find that he is a bit shy at first. But when you look into his gorgeous brown eyes, you will see that he is yearning to trust and to be loved. And although it might take Pluto a little time to trust you with his heart, once he gets to know you, you will find one of the sweetest, most loving, loyal pups you could ever hope to meet. And we’ll tell you an endearing secret about Pluto; one of the quickest ways to win his heart is to offer him a blanket. You see, this sweet boy’s favorite comfort item in the whole world is his “blankie”, which he loves to be covered with and snuggle under.

If Pluto could describe his perfect Forever Home, he would ask for a patient, loving environment where he could take the time he needs to learn to trust and feel secure. He would prefer a home without small children, although he would be happy to share it with a canine sibling or two. Pluto would do best to be an indoor dog so that he can spend as much time as possible interacting with his Forever Family and building trust with them. And, of course, Pluto would love to have a soft, fuzzy blanket of his very own to snuggle under in his new home.

Pluto will go to his Forever Home neutered, dewormed, heartworm tested, and up to date on all vaccinations, including rabies. This sweet boy has a heart full of love that he would love to share; could he share it with you?
