Pet of the Week – Pumpkin
Please meet Pumpkin! Pumpkin is an adult red Tabby who, through perfect timing and a bit of kitty luck, found his way to Green Hills Animal Shelter when he needed us most. His story with GHAS began when a shelter employee who was preparing to leave for the evening saw a big reddish-orange cat making his way across the shelter lot. The employee called out to him, and when Pumpkin turned to acknowledge the greeting, the employee saw that he had a large gash on the side of his face that appeared to be infected. Pumpkin seemed to know that he needed help, and he was calm and sweet as the employee picked him up and took him inside.
Once inside, Pumpkin’s wound was cleaned and he began receiving antibiotics for the infection. He seemed to understand that these new humans were there to help him, and he accepted the help very graciously, rewarding us with purrs and affection.
Pumpkin’s wounds are now all healed, and he has revealed himself to be a very sweet boy. He is quite mellow, and very affectionate, graciously accepting love and pets from everyone he meets.
Pumpkin would love a home where he could continue his journey with a forever family of his very own. He has seen the hard side of life, and would be so grateful to have a home where he could be loved, pampered and spoiled.
Pumpkin has been neutered, FIV/FeLV tested, de-wormed, and is up to date on all vaccinations, including rabies. The only thing Pumpkin is missing is a Forever Home of his very own; could that home be yours?
