Pet Of The Week – Rosey
Please meet Rosey! Rosey is a 6-year old Great Dane and Lab mix. Before coming to Green Hills Animal Shelter, Rosey had a home of her own where she was very loved, but sadly her owner was going through a life situation that resulted in him needing to rehome Rosey, and just a few days before Christmas she came to the shelter.
Rosey grieved deeply for her former owner, but dogs that grieve deeply do so becauses they also love very deeply, and as shelter staff helped her to adjust, Rosey quickly showed us that she is a dog with a lot of love to give.
Rosey is a very smart girl who loves being outside. She is always happy to get to go on a walk or play in the shelter’s play yard. Shelter staff describes her as being full of character and depth and say she is so smart that you can sometimes almost see her thinking.
Rosey has attended the Puppies for Parole Program, where she learned basic obedience, commands, and good home habits. While at Puppies for Parole, she got along well with all the other dogs in the program.
If Rosey could ask for a home of her own, we have no doubt that she would ask to be back in a home where she could once again be the center of her family’s universe. She would love a securely fenced yard where she could spend some time outside each day, and a person to take her on long walks. She would be perfectly happy to be part of an adult only household, or to share her home with older children.
Rosey has been spayed, de-wormed, heartworm tested, and is up to date on all her vaccinations, including rabies. The only thing she is missing is a home and family of her own. Could that home be yours?
