Pet Of The Week – Salem
We are excited to introduce you to Salem! Salem is a beautiful cat whose perfect white, black and orange Calico markings almost look like a gorgeous patchwork quilt that is made of fur.
Salem is a young adult who came to Green Hills Animal Shelter under some very special circumstances. You see, it was a bitterly cold day in February (February 9th to be exact), when a kind lady found Salem on her porch. But Salem hadn’t just wandered up onto the porch looking for a place to get out of the cold and snow for herself – Salem was having kittens! When the lady spotted Salem and her baby on her porch, she knew they couldn’t survive out in the weather, so she gathered up Salem and her kitten and headed straight to the shelter. With no idea of what would happen next, Salem was literally having kittens as she came through the shelter doors.
Despite a rough beginning to motherhood, Salem quickly settled into her new, warm accommodations and immediately charmed everyone at the shelter. Not only was Salem a wonderful mother, but she is also a super sweet cat who loves everyone she meets and is always ready to be petted and loved. Salem also gets along well with other cats, and she doesn’t seem to mind the dogs at the shelter one little bit.
Now that Salem’s kittens have been weaned and are headed to homes of their own, pretty Salem is ready to say good-bye to the shelter and begin a new life with a home and family all her own. If she could describe her purr-fect home to us, she would no doubt ask for an indoor-only home where she would never have to be outside in the cold again. She would love a home where she would receive lots of attention and love and where she could share all her love with her family. She would be purr-fectly happy in a home with children, and she would also be happy in a home with another resident kitty or two, or perhaps even a dog.
Salem will go to her Forever Home spayed, de-wormed, FIV/FeLV tested, and up to date on all vaccinations, including rabies. She is a sweet girl who is full of love to give. Could she share that love with you?
