Pet of the Week – Simba

Please meet Simba!  Simba is a very special kitten who, like his beloved movie namesake, has the heart of a king.  Simba is 3 months old and had  bit of a rough start to life. As a tiny baby he was found abandoned under a porch by a kind person who brought him to Green Hills Animal Shelter.  He was just a few days old, with his eyes still closed tight. Because tiny kittens require round-the-clock care, Simba went to a foster home where a wonderful lady bottle fed him, loved him, and took care of him until he was ready to come back to Green Hills Animal Shelter and look for a home of his very own.

Simba is an active boy who loves to play.  As we said earlier, this “tiny lion” has the heart of a king; and he also has the confidence to match.  He is happy and busy and, although he is a bit smaller than other kittens his age, he doesn’t let that stop him, and shelter staff can’t help but smile when they tell you that he’s quite the little rascal.

Simba loves spending time playing with the other cats and kittens in the shelter’s cat play area, Meow Meadow. He gets along well with other cats and would be very happy in a home where he has another kitty playmate.  He also loves people and is sure to provide his Forever Human with endless hours of love and smiles.

When you meet Simba, you might notice that one of his eyes sometimes has a tear or two. That’s because our confident little Simba decided to play with the dog in his foster home, who accidentally played a little too hard and damaged Simba’s tear duct.  But don’t worry, Simba is just fine and that occasional tear doesn’t affect or bother him one little bit.

Simba has been neutered, FIV/FeLV tested, and is up to date on all his shots including rabies. The only thing this tiny lion still needs is a home of his very own; perhaps that home could be yours!

(Please note that because it is still winter and Simba is only 3 months old and quite small for his age, he will need to be adopted into a home where he can be an indoor kitty.)
