As we so often say, “Life sometimes throws us curves”, and one of those curves is how Whiskey came to be at Green Hills Animal Shelter. You see, before coming to the shelter this sweet Shepherd/Husky mix had a home of his very own. He loved his family and they loved him, but then life threw a curve and when his family was no longer able to provide and care for him they made the heart-wrenching decision to surrender their loyal friend to the shelter.
Whiskey, whom we believe to be approximately 2 to 3 years old, is a sweet, gentle boy who loves and gets along with everyone he meets. He is friendly and loyal and this good boy loves attention! Whiskey is very smart, intuitive, and a fastidious housekeeper; he walks well on a leash, doesn’t jump up when greeting people, and seems to understand potty training as he hasn’t had a single accident in his kennel since arriving at the shelter. When Whiskey isn’t enjoying a walk or a romp in the shelter play yard he is content to relax quietly in his kennel; in short, Whiskey is an amazing pet! Whiskey seems to get along well with other dogs and his gentle nature would make him a good fit in a home with gentle children.
If Whiskey could describe his perfect Forever Home he would ask for a loving home with a family who would spend lots of time with him. He would very much like to have a securely fenced yard where he could run and play, after which he would love to come inside for cuddles, pets, and treats. Whiskey would love to go on long leashed walks and he also dreams of having a soft bed, treats, and perhaps even some cuddly toys all his own. Whiskey would be very happy to be an adult’s special pal or to be a gentle child’s best friend for life.
Whiskey will go to his Forever Home neutered, de-wormed, heartworm tested, and up to date on all vaccinations including rabies. He is full of love and longing to be back in a home of his own; could you make his dream come true?
