Missouri Preliminary Date For State School Assessments Released

The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education released the preliminary 2021-22 Grade Level and End-of-Course assessments to the Missouri State Board this week.
The results included the 2021-22 data from the required state assessments for English Language Arts and Math for grades 3-through-8, Science for grades 5 and 8, and Algebra I, Biology, and Government End of Course assessments. There were also option assessments of American History, Geometry, and Physical Science.
The results showed the state show improvement from the 2020-21 year, but the state results are not yet at pre-pandemic levels.
Missouri’s results showed 43 percent of those taking the assessments were at advanced and proficient levels. 39 percent had advances and proficient levels in math. 38 percent showed proficient levels in Science. 40 percent of those taking the assessments showed advanced and proficient levels in Social Studies.
The COVID-19 pandemic continued to cause learning disruptions, periods of quarantine, and chronic absenteeism of both students and staff for the 2021-22 school year.
