Stanberry Board Receives Building And Grounds Update

Stanberry School Board members agreed to proceed with plans and bids for the construction of new restrooms at Memorial Stadium. The action was taken at a meeting on Tuesday night. The vote followed a presentation on the design of the project. The school and the architect will meet in an effort to determine if a location of the restrooms could be made closer to the concession stand. The board’s vote on the action was 7-0. The board still has the authority to reject any of all of the bids once their have been obtained.

The board received a preliminary budget update. The budget has a deficit of $145,000 when calculated conservatively. More discussion will follow.

Stanberry’s board approved the 2022-23 school calendar following a third reading.

During the Building and Grounds Update, Stanberry’s board received a report that the new Training Building has been completed. The new Ag Building and Greenhouse Project will have more progress when the weather is better. Herner Construction has been approved for the Old Ag Building Classroom Renovation Project. Floor plans, the design, and exercise equipment have been approved for the new Training Building. The items will be installed over the summer.

Stanberry’s board hired Kristine Palmer to be a Junior High English and Language Arts Teacher for the school year. The board received a resignation letter from Paige Kelley and a retirement letter from Gerianne Strough during the meeting.
