The trend of lower than average deer harvest numbers continued through the second youth portion of the 2019 deer hunting season. That season ended Sunday.
Missouri youth hunters harvested just over 1,900 deer. There were 752 antlered bucks and 957 does reported. That figure is off the pace of last year by almost 700 deer. Harrison County reported a harvest of 38 deer. Daviess County had 27 deer. There were 14 deer taken from Grundy County. Gentry County reported 8 deer. Worth County reported a total of 11 deer in the youth portion of the season.
There will be an antlerless firearm deer season that begins on Friday and continues through Sunday. The alternative methods season will also be held beginning December 28th and continuing through January 7th. The archery deer season also continues through January 15th.
