MARYVILLE, MO – The Nodaway County Soil & Water Conservation District will be accepting signups for the annual pond drawing from January 2nd through the 12th.

Those interested can stop by the office, call, email, or text to have their name entered into the drawing.  The drawing will be held during the January 18th  board meeting.  Cost share for ponds is provided at the rate of 75 percent of the state average cost for components, up to the state maximum of $20,000.

The “three-year rule” is still in place for receiving cost share funds on any structural practice –meaning that if you’ve received cost share funds for any structural practice such as a pond or terrace then you must wait until the third fiscal year to be eligible to receive funds again.  Soil and Water’s fiscal year runs from July to June.

The Soil and Water Conservation Program is funded by a one-tenth-of-one-percent sales tax that began in 1984 and is voted on every ten years.
