Blunt Announces Funding For Opioid Fight In Rural Areas

Missouri U.S. Senator Roy Blunt has announced that Northwest Health Services in St Joseph will receive funding for their efforts to deal with the opioid crisis in rural areas.

Northwest Health Services has been selected as one of three organizations that will receive $1 million dollars in the 2020 Labor/Health and Human Services appropriation in the Fiscal year 2020  bill. The national funding amount is $110 million dollars that will be used to support treatment for and prevention of substance use disorders and focus on rural communities at the highest risk for substance use disorder.
