Breckenridge Man Injured In Combine-Volvo Tractor Accident

A Breckenridge combine operator was injured following an accident with a Volvo tractor Tuesday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the Volvo tractor attempted to pass the combine while both were heading westbound on Highway 36. The tractor hit the driver’s side rear tire of the combine and forced to combine into the median where it overturned. The tractor went off the side of the roadway and stopped in a ditch. The 60 year old Curt Shonk of Breckenridge was taken to Hedrick Medical Center with minor injuries. The combine was totaled. 72 year old Daniel Deal of Kansas City was operating the tractor and was not reported as injured.

The accident took place at 8:20am Tuesday morning. The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department assisted the highway patrol.
