A hazardous household waste drop off will be held in Cameron this weekend.

The drop-off is set for Saturday, May 8 from 8 A.M. until Noon at the Cameron Water Plant, located at 1100 West 8th Street. They ask that you use the 8th Street entrance behind the water plant.

Items accepted for recycling include batteries, varnishes, cleaners, pesticides, garden sprays, brake fluid, antifreeze, and fluorescent bulbs. Outdated agricultural chemicals will also be accepted for proper disposal, but no containers over 5 gallons will be taken.

Things that will not be accepted include latex paint, ammunition, explosives, and motor oil.

There is no cost to residents of Andrew, Buchanan, Clinton and DeKalb Counties.
