About two weeks ago a Cameron woman became the latest area resident to take home a large winning from the Missouri Lottery.
On April 26 the Missouri Lottery debuted a new scratchers game called “Black Pearls”. That same day Cameron resident Hali Stillwell opted to try the new game. She bought a ticket from the Cameron Smoke and Liquor, but came up empty on the first attempt. After deciding to give it one more go Stillwell got another five dollars from her car for another ticket, a decision that would payoff in a big way.
The second ticket purchased revealed one of six $100,000 top prizes.
In fiscal year 2020, Missouri Lottery players in Clinton County won more than $3.1 million in prizes. Retailers in the county received more than $274,000 in commissions and bonuses, with an additional $891,000 went to educational programs in the county.
