Child Sustains Serious Injures in Overnight Accident Near Craig

A child sustained serious injuries in an overnight accident on I-29 in Holt County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred around 11:30 pm on Friday as 28-year old Sylvana Meza of Springdale, Arkansas was northbound on I-29, 2 miles south of Craig. Meza’s vehicle began sliding on the snow-covered roadway. She continued off the east shoulder into a ditch and came to rest in a culvert.
Meza was taken to Mosaic with minor injuries. A 9-year old female was also taken to Mosaic with serious injuries. The report indicates the child was not wearing a seatbelt.
