Chillicothe Police Release Additional Details on Murder of 2-Year-Old Child

The Chillicothe Police Department released additional details about the death of a child that led to murder charges for two Chillicothe residents.

On December 24th officers responded to a 911 call in reference to an unresponsive child. Upon arrival they found an unresponsive 2-year-old. The child was transported to the hospital and was later pronounced deceased by the Livingston County Coroner’s Office.

An investigating officer says Young and Wilson were both in the home with the child, and neglected to care for or check on the child while they were using methamphetamine.

After the investigation, officers arrested 22-year old Avery Nicole Young and 46-year old Christopher Robert Wilson. Young and Wilson were charged yesterday (Wednesday) with Murder in the second degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. They are being held without bond.

The Police Department says further investigation and additional charges are being considered with the possibility of others involved.
