Clinton County Officers Attending DEA Course

PLATTSBURG, MO – Clinton County Deputy Jared Proctor and Plattsburg Police Officer Ryland Simms are in Quantico, Virginia at DEA headquarters this week. The officers are attending the DEA Illicit Hazardous Environment Technician course.

This course is part of a new, larger program for the state of Missouri of Authorized Central Storage. In this program, The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office will be the pass-thru collection point for all counties in Northwest Missouri of hazardous clandestine chemicals. Federal partners at the DEA will then collect chemicals from storage for a final safe and environmentally friendly destruction.

This program is completely funded by DEA and Missouri Department of Public Safety funds.
Agencies helping with trained personnel at the Clinton County storage location are the Plattsburg Police Department, Holt Community Fire Protection District and Edgerton-Trimble Fire Protection District
