Corydon Sex Offender Pleads Guilty to Online Harassment of Missouri Teen

JEFFERSON CITY, MO – A Corydon, Iowa man entered a guilty plea in federal court today (Thursday) to attempting to produce child pornography.

Sixty-year-old David Dodds pleaded guilty under a plea agreement wherein the government and the Defendant will jointly recommend a sentence of 15 years in federal prison without parole.

In pleading guilty, Dodds admitted that he initially contacted the child victim through her Instagram account when she was 13 years old, and continued to contact her until she was 18 years old. The victim’s father contacted the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office in 2020 to report his daughter had been the victim of harassment and sexual enticement for several years.

The victim said Dodds became agitated and threatened her if she didn’t communicate with him.

A sentencing hearing will be held in the Western District of Missouri in Jefferson City after the completion of a presentence investigation. Dodds is a registered sex offender due to a prior conviction for the exhibition of obscene materials to minors which occurred after the conduct in the federal case.
