Covid Surges in Daviess County

The Daviess County Health Department reports that the county is now seeing a surge in COVID-19 cases with 10 new cases in 1 week, one of those cases being a breakthrough case.

A breakthrough case is defined as a person who tests positive for COVID-19 following their 14 days full vaccination date. The Department urges residents to protect themselves and those around them regardless of vaccination status by washing their hands frequently, attempting to stay six feet away from those in different households or wear a mask if possible, stay home if you are sick, and get vaccinated if you are able.

The vaccine is available in their office as well as other locations in the area. If you are interested in getting the COVID-19 vaccine please call or walk in M-F 8:00am-4:30pm.

Daviess county is now considered a “hot spot” in the state of Missouri due to the positivity rate. Let’s please continue to do our part in putting an end to this pandemic.
