Crash Near Gilman City Leaves One With Serious Injuries

HARRISON COUNTY, MO – An accident near Gilman City Sunday evening resulted in injuries to two Gilman City residents.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that the crash occurred around 6:20 pm as 20-year-old Joseph Tate was northbound on Highway 146, two miles north of Gilman City. Thirty-four-year-old Francisco Prior Cruz was southbound when he crossed the centerline and struck Tate’s vehicle head-on. Both vehicles came to rest upright in the northbound lanes.

Prior Cruz was transported to Harrison County Community Hospital with serious injuries. Tate refused medical treatment at the scene for minor injuries. The patrol says Tate was wearing a seatbelt, however Prior Cruz was not wearing a safety device. An arrest report indicates Prior Cruz was arrested for driving while intoxicated, careless and imprudent driving involving a crash, and leaving the scene of a crash. He was released for treatment.
