Authorities in St. Joseph have not released much information but say they are investigating after a dead body was found in a wooded area near a busy intersection Wednesday evening.

Law enforcement in St. Joseph say they were called to the intersection of south 36th Street and Pickett Road between 6:30 and 7 P.M. Wednesday after the body was found in a wooded area near the intersection.

Authorities have released no other information regarding cause of death or any identification of the deceased individual. They say their death investigation is on-going.
