Democrat Candidate for State Representative in November Election Dies at Age 81

BETHANY, MO – The Democrat candidate for District 2 State Representative in the 2022 election passed away on Wednesday. Lois Pontius of Ridgeway died at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City. Family reported she sustained a head injury in a fall which ultimately lead to her death.
Pontius was defeated by Republican candidate Mazzie Boyd in the November 8th election. Services for Pontius will be held on Monday in Bethany. She was 81 years old.
