Eagleville Resident Charged in Shooting Near Ridgeway

BETHANY, MO – A 20-year-old Eagleville resident is being held on charges stemming from a shooting on Tuesday near Ridgeway.

Harrison County Sheriff Trevor Place says deputies responded on a report of a male subject being shot. Upon arrival, deputies located the victim with several apparent gunshot wounds. After obtaining statements from the victim, a suspect was developed.

Avery Cook was later arrested in connection with the shooting and was charged Wednesday with first-degree assault involving serious physical injury, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.

Cook is being held in the Harrison County Jail. Bond has been denied. He is scheduled for a bond hearing next week.
