Easterseals Midwest Praises Missouri’s Governor and Lawmakers in Both Parties for Addressing DSP Crisis

A group that provides services to thousands of Missourians with developmental disabilities is praising Governor Parson and lawmakers in both parties for approving a 56-million dollar increase aimed at resolving an employee crisis. Easterseals serves more than five-thousand Missourians and families impacted by disabilities. Easterseals Midwest vice president Cathy Brown tells Missourinet it’s the largest one-time investment in state history in fixing the Direct Support Professional (DSP) crisis:

Brown says the funding increase will allow Easterseals Midwest to increase starting pay to 15 to 22 dollars per hour, along with 15-hundred dollar bonuses for new employees in their first year.
