Evergy has determined the cause of a power outage that left almost 30,000 St. Joseph area customers without power Wednesday morning.
The outage, which began around 4 a.m., was reportedly caused by a failed breaker at a substation.
Company officials say that power was restored to all customers by 6:45.
The St. Joseph and Savannah R-3 School Districts had already canceled classes for the day by the time power was restored.
