Excelsior Springs Woman Killed in Clay County Crash Tuesday

An Excelsior Springs Woman was killed in a Clay County accident Tuesday Afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred on U.S. 69 and Rhodes Road when a vehicle driven by a 16-year-old was heading northbound.

Troopers say the teen failed to yield to a westbound vehicle driven by 49-year-old Excelsior Springs resident Rochelle M. Crawford.

Crawford’s vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and the teen’s vehicle changed lanes and came to a rest facing southbound.

Crawford and a passenger, 22-year-old Excelsior Springs resident Bryce B. Valdridge, both suffered serious injuries.

A second passenger, 41-year-old Excelsior Springs resident Stacey R. Busick, was pronounced dead at 3:34 p.m. by Frontier Forensics.

The 16-year-old suffered minor injuries.

Troopers say all four involved in the crash were wearing seat belts at the time of the incident.
