Excelsior Springs Woman Seriously Injured in Monday Afternoon Accident

An elderly Excelsior Springs woman was left with serious injuries after a two-vehicle accident in Ray County Monday afternoon.

According to Troop A of the Missouri State Highway Patrol 81-year-old Shirley L. Davis was driving a 2016 Chevy Malibu on Missouri Route 10 at Oak Street in Ray County at 2:40 P.M. That’s when officers say her vehicle crossed the center line and sideswiped a 2011 Ford F250.

After the impact both vehicles traveled off the roadway and came to rest in a ditch.

Davis was reportedly not wearing a seat belt at the time and suffered serious injuries. She was taken by ambulance to Liberty Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the second vehicle was not hurt in the accident.
