Gower Man Charged With Murder In Infant’s Death

Clinton County authorities have charged a Gower man with the murder of a 5-month old infant.

According to a probable cause statement filed with the court, officers were dispatched to a residence in Gower on February 12th in regard to an unresponsive infant. The child was transported to Children’s Mercy Hospital where he was diagnosed with abusive head trauma. The child died of his injuries on February 16th.

An autopsy discovered the child suffered from fractured ribs and head trauma doctors say are not consistent with CPR. The autopsy also found bruising on the child’s head and arms.

Authorities say 23-year old Dillon Ray Livingston was the sole caretaker for this child when he became unresponsive. During the course of the investigation, officers say Livingston admitted to handling the baby too roughly.

During the investigation, the infant’s twin was examined and found to have older injuries as well.

Livingston is charged with 2nd degree murder and two counts of child abuse. He is incarcerated in the Clinton County Jail. Bond has been denied.
