Highlights Of The Missouri Legislature’s Budget Proposal For The Department Of Mental Health

(MISSOURINET) – It’s only a matter of time before we learn what Governor Parson will support and what he will veto in the Missouri Legislature’s 49-billion-dollar state budget proposal. Missouri’s next state budget year begins in July. Department of Mental Health Director Valerie Huhn (hoon) says a major budget item would designate 232-million-dollars to boost pay for workers caring for developmentally disabled patients.

What this means for a per dollar hour raise for workers is unknown at this time. Huhn says another proposed item would add more youth behavioral health liaisons – to close the gap between finding and getting access to behavioral health services for kids.
