Holt Man Injured In Early Friday Accident

A Holt man was left with moderate injuries early Friday after losing control of his truck on an icy bridge.

Troop A of the Missouri State Highway Patrol says 22-year-old Holt resident Reese D. O’Banion was driving a 2006 Ford Ranger southbound on Interstate 35 between Holt and Kearney at 5:20 A.M. when the vehicle began to slide on an ice covered bridge. The truck went off the right side of the interstate where it hit a ditch and overturned striking a woven wire fence. The truck continued to roll going through a chain link fence as well before coming to rest.

O’Banion was reportedly wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident but still suffered moderate injuries. He was taken to Liberty Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
