Holt Man Injured in Fatal Jackson County Crash Wednesday

A Holt man suffered injuries in a fatal Jackson County crash Wednesday afternoon.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the accident occurred around 4:12 Wednesday afternoon on Jefferson Road, at Pamela Boulevard, as 20-year-old Grain Valley resident Christian K. Lanear drove eastbound.
Troopers say Lanear traveled off the road, overcorrected, returned to the road, began to slide across the center line, and was struck by a westbound vehicle driven by 29-year-old Holt resident Jacob L. Petree.
Lanear suffered fatal injuries in the crash.
Petree suffered moderate injuries and sought treatment at Centerpoint Hospital.
Authorities say only Lanear wore a seat belt at the time of the crash.
