Iowa Teenager Killed In Nodaway County Motorcycle Accident

A Coin, Iowa 18-year-old died in a motorcycle accident in Nodaway County Sunday evening.

The Highway Patrol reports 18-year-old Seger Mace of Coin was approaching the intersection of Route C and Railroad Street in Elmo with his motorcycle. A pickup was also approaching the intersection. The pickup was driven by 54 year old Darrin Harvey. The pickup was heading northbound on Railroad Street with a towed unit. The motorcycle was heading westbound on Route C.

Mace’s motorcycle failed to yield to the pickup as it entered the intersection. His motorcycle began to skid, overturned and hit the towed unit being pulled behind Harvey’s pickup. Mace was thrown off the motorcycle by the collision. He died later at a Clarinda hospital.

Harvey was not listed as injured in the report.

The accident took place at 6:20pm Sunday evening.

The Nodaway County Sheriff’s Department assisted the Highway Patrol.
