Kearney Teen Sentenced to Prison for Clinton County Rape

PLATTSBURG, MO – A Kearney man who pleaded guilty to rape in Clinton County when he was 16 years old has been sentenced to prison.

Dylan Trop Harp, now 19 years old, entered a guilty plea to the amended charge of Rape in the Second Degree in December, 2021.  Harp was originally charged with Statutory Rape in an incident from December, 2019.

As part of the plea agreement, the State recommended a sentence of 7 years in prison with a stay of execution for a period of 5 years, during which Harp would be placed on probation.  The Clinton County Circuit Court did not follow the recommendation of the State.  Harp was sentenced to 7 years in prison.

The Kearney teen has been incarcerated in the Clinton County jail after his bond was revoked for testing positive for a controlled substance.  Harp will be transferred to the Missouri Department of Corrections to serve his sentence.
