Leaving a Stop Sign Too Early Causing Injury Crash in Andrew County

A man left a stop sign too soon in Andrew County causing an injury accident.

Wednesday afternoon, 73-year-old Benton E. Visser from Monroe, South Dakota pulled to a stop at the intersection of Business 71 and I-29, heading south. At 1:07 p.m. according to a report from the Missouri Highway Patrol, he pulled into the path of 56-year-old Deborah A. Lyle-Schwenn who crashed her Chevy Equinox into the driver’s side of Visser’s Chevy Silverado causing extensive damage.

Both drivers were wearing safety devices with Lyle-Schween suffering moderate injuries. The was taken to Mosaic Life Care by Andrew County EMS.
