Legislative Effort Aims to Recruit Students to Become Large Animal Veterinarians

(MISSOURINET) – Missouri is in the market for more large animal veterinarians. State Representative Ken Haden is sponsoring a bill that would pay up to 30-thousand-dollars annually in student loans for as many as 12 large animal vets who contract to work in rural Missouri. Missouri Cattlemen’s Association’s lobbyist Shannon Cooper says there is not enough money invested in the program.

A House committee has not yet voted on the bill.
