Liberty Woman Killed Crossing I-35 on Foot in Clay county

A Liberty woman was killed Thursday night while trying to cross Interstate 35 on foot.
According to Troop A of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 38-year-old Liberty resident Bernice Rodriguez was attempting to cross I-35 south of U.S. 69 in Clay County on foot at about 10:15 Thursday night when she was hit by a 2014 GMC Acadia being driven southbound by 36-year-old West Des Moines, Iowa resident Ashley Tieu.
Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene by Liberty Fire at 10:25 P.M.
Tieu was not injured in the accident.
