Livingston County Investigating Shooting
One Livingston County man was not only shot in the leg during a Tuesday evening incident, but also was ultimately arrested on parole violations.
According to information released by Livingston COunty Sheriff Steve Cox On Tuesday at 5:11 P.M. officers with the Sheriff’s office were dispatched to a reported shooting in the 500 block of East Polk Street outside of Chillicothe city limits.
Their preliminary investigation points to an argument taking place between two adult males, one of whom was reportedly intoxicated. The intoxicated man was reportedly angry and charged at the other man who then discharged a handgun toward the ground but stuck the intoxicated male in the leg.
The intoxicated male who was shot was treated and released.
However, on Wednesday, February 2 Missouri Probation and Parole Officers requested assistance from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office as they conducted their own investigation at the scene and subsequently took the individual who had been shot in the leg into custody for alleged parole violation(s). That individual is reportedly on parole for felony DWI.
The Sheriff’s Office says they are continuing their investigation and will submit a final report to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for consideration of charges.
