Maitland Woman Injured & Charged in Holt County Crash Wednesday

A Maitland woman suffered injuries and faces charges in a Holt County crash late Wednesday.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the accident occurred around 9:15 Wednesday evening on 180th Street, three miles east of Mound City, as 19-year-old Sophia E. Ferguson drove westbound.
Troopers say Ferguson went off the south side of the road, struck a fence post, and came to a rest.
Ferguson suffered moderate injuries and sought treatment at Mosaic in Saint Joseph.
Authorities say Ferguson did wear a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Following the accident, troopers arrested Ferguson on preliminary charges of driving while intoxicated via drugs and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway.
