MDC Releases Spring Youth Turkey Harvest Totals

The Missouri Department of Conservation says challenging conditions for youth turkey hunters likely impacted the harvest for the past weekend’s youth weekend.
The numbers were down a little from the 2022 spring youth weekend. Missouri youth hunters took 2,550 birds on Saturday and Sunday. The total last year was 2,881.
The top county statewide was Osage County with a harvest of 71 birds. Harrison County youth hunters took 38 turkeys. Daviess County reported a harvest of 23. Mercer County had 16. Putnam County reported 14. Grundy County totaled 10. Worth County harvested 10 birds. Gentry County reported a harvest of 9 birds.
The regular spring turkey season runs April 17 through May 7.
