Milan Woman Flown To Mizzou After Head-On Accident

A Milan woman had to be flown from the scene by Life Flight Eagle after a head-on collision with another vehicle Thursday night near Laclede.

Troop B of the Highway Patrol says at 7:15 Thursday night a 2014 Hyundai Elantra being driven by 42-year-old Purdin resident Glenda Y. Miranda on Highway 5 about a mile north of Laclede when her vehicle crossed the center line and struck a 2004 Chevy Impala head-on.

The driver of that Impala, 27-year-old Milan resident Kirsten I. Tharp, was not wearing a seat belt and suffered what were described as moderate injuries. She was taken by Life Flight Eagle to the University of Missouri hospital for treatment.

Miranda was not injured in the accident.
