Missouri American Water Purchase Of Wood Heights System Approved
Late last week the Missouri Public Service Commission approved applications filed by the Missouri-American Water Company allowing the company to purchase and operate the municipal water and sewer system in the city of Wood Heights, in Ray County.
Under the deal Missouri American Water will purchase all of the water and sewer system assets of the currently unregulated systems of Wood Heights, a move which was overwhelmingly approved by citizens in the April 5, 2022, election.
Missouri American Water provides water service to approximately 480,000 customers in Missouri, and sewer service to approximately 22,000 customers in the state. According to the applications, Wood Heights currently serves approximately 260 water accounts and 190 sewer accounts.
