Missouri Receives Federal Money for Broadband Expansion

(MISSOURINET) – Missouri will receive 1-point-7(B)Billion dollars from the federal government to expand broadband in the state, an incredible step toward covering the entire state according to Broadband Development Office Director BJ Tanksley. . .

Tanksley says the money will go a long way to providing high-speed internet to all Missourians, no matter where they live. . .

The money comes from the Department of Commerce National Telecommunications and Information Administration and is based on the number of unserved or under-served residents in the state.

A good portion of extreme northwest Missouri as well as counties along the Iowa border will be in line to receive expanded broadband.
