Missouri Wants to Up Its Game to Recruit the State’s Best High School Athletes

(MISSOURINET) – Some of Missouri’s star high school athletes might think twice about leaving the state to play college sports. Governor Mike Parson has signed a bill into law that will allow them to earn endorsement money as soon as they sign on the dotted line to play in-state for a college or university. Representative Kurtis Gregory, a former Mizzou football player, led the effort to update Missouri’s NIL, or name, image, and likeness law.

The legislation also lets coaches and school employees negotiate endorsement deals for college athletes.
