Missouri’s Governor Signs Bipartisan PDMP Legislation into Law; Parson Joined by Families Who’ve Lost Loved Ones to Opioids

Missouri’s governor says bipartisan prescription drug monitoring program (PDMP) legislation will empower health care professionals to make decisions that better serve their patients and assist in battling Missouri’s opioid epidemic. Governor Parson signed PDMP into law on Monday in Jefferson City, where he was joined by families who’ve lost loved ones to the opioid epidemic:

A PDMP is an electronic database that collects data on controlled substance prescriptions within a state. The law signed by the governor will establish the Joint Oversight Task Force of Prescription Drug Monitoring within the state Office of Administration (OA).
